Our brewery is located in the town of Montross in the heart of Virginia’s Northern Neck. In 1667, the Westmoreland County courthouse was built just down the road. In 1752, the town that grew around the courthouse was given its present name after a local merchant’s native town of Montross, Ireland.
Montross is located on Route 3 (Kings Hwy) just east of the Birthplace of George Washington, Stratford Hall (the home of the Lees of Virginia), and Westmoreland State Park. 15 minutes to the north is Currioman Landing, the launch point for the 8.5 mile Currioman Bay Water Trail, an expert-level kayaking circuit.
The largely undiscovered area offers great fishing, kayaking, birding, and biking activities. We’re also proud of our town’s many artistic murals, which have helped transform it into a destination for art and antiquing.
